About

About BizarreBeasts

BizarreBeasts is a hand-illustrated world of characters made by Dylan Yarter, an artist in Bentonville, Arkansas. It began in 2021 as ink drawings and canvas paintings and grew into an animated series, a set of original games, and a kids platform. Every character in it is illustrated by hand.

In February 2026 Dylan left a corporate career to make BizarreBeasts full time. He draws and animates the characters and builds the studio software the series is made with. Kate Yarter is his wife and partner in the studio: together they write, direct, and produce the series, and Kate leads its music and sound design.

The animated series is coming to DCP+, the streaming platform from Decentralized Pictures, a nonprofit foundation for independent creators, with the support of the A3 Startup Award from the Arts3 Foundation.

The Animated Series

A funny, hand-illustrated animated series about the BizarreBeasts of Bizarre City. Dylan illustrates every character by hand, animates them in studio software he built with AI-assisted development, and is the voice actor for Hans, Cecil, Jasper, Monty, Seymour, and Benny, so far. Kate is the voice actor for Cornelia. The series is in production for DCP+ with the support of the A3 Startup Award from the Arts3 Foundation, administered by Decentralized Pictures. The teaser is out now.

Dylan created BizarreBeasts in 2021 and draws every character by hand. He writes, directs, and produces the series with Kate and animates it in custom studio tools he built with AI-powered coding. He is the voice of Hans, Cecil, Jasper, Monty, Seymour, and Benny, and he still paints and exhibits as a fine artist.

The BizarreBeasts App and Community

Built in public on Farcaster since February 2024.

The community app is where BizarreBeasts lives on Farcaster: a meme creator with the sticker packs, daily rituals, contests and gigs, NFT drops, and the $BB community token with its Empire leaderboard. It runs on Base and is its own app at bbapp.bizarrebeasts.io.

The idea behind it is simple: community, coins, culture. Art that people can take part in, a token that gives the community shared ownership, and a culture that lives where the community does. Dylan built the app himself, from the wallet integration to the rituals, on top of the same drawings that became the series.

On the app

Meme creator and sticker packs, daily rituals and check-ins, contests and gigs, NFT collections, tipping, the Empire leaderboard.

Where it started

A Base staking dapp for the Coinbase Onchain Summer Buildathon in 2024, then the Farcaster miniapp, rebuilt from scratch by Dylan in 2025.
