About
About BizarreBeasts
BizarreBeasts is a hand-illustrated world of characters made by Dylan Yarter, an artist in Bentonville, Arkansas. It began in 2021 as ink drawings and canvas paintings and grew into an animated series, a set of original games, and a kids platform. Every character in it is illustrated by hand.
About Dylan and Kate
In February 2026 Dylan left a corporate career to make BizarreBeasts full time. He draws and animates the characters and builds the studio software the series is made with. Kate Yarter is his wife and partner in the studio: together they write, direct, and produce the series, and Kate leads its music and sound design.
The series is in production for DCP+ with the support of the A3 Startup Award from the Arts3 Foundation, administered by Decentralized Pictures.
How It Is Made
All of the artwork is human-made and illustrated by hand. Dylan draws every character, then cuts each drawing into parts and rigs it so it can move.
He animates them in custom studio tools he built with AI-powered coding, instead of an engineering team: over 300 custom programs, including more than 70 browser tools and more than 200 Python pipeline scripts. Inside those tools, AI helps with repetitive tasks like drafting the motion timing, always under Dylan's direction.
Kate leads the casting, the voice direction, the music production, sound design, and editing. Dylan is the voice actor for Hans, Cecil, Jasper, Monty, Seymour, and Benny, so far. Kate is the voice actor for Cornelia.
